Julia Kline is one of the leading national experts on social media marketing for small business. She began her career 15 years ago as a Mary Kay sales rep, where she was one of the top 1% in the world; and continued through the 90’s as a successful realtor and real estate investor, owning and operating vacation property, a miniature golf course and a motel, as well as many many rental and rehab houses.
She first made a name for herself in the online marketing world several years ago by becoming the only person to successfully sell high-end real estate via auction on eBay. But instead of adopting her policies system-wide, eBay management saw things differently and made policy changes about 2 years ago that put her out of business.
But that was just in time for the advent of social media. So Julia teamed up with a partner, and together they began testing, through his existing coaching and consulting clients, various strategies for how to maximize this new marketing medium. They developed practices and strategies, based largely on Dan Kennedy-style marketing principles, that no one else still seems to be teaching or practicing.
Now on her own, Julia is a nationally recognized seminar speaker, with her first book due out in November. Her company, Green Island Marketing, offers a wide array of social media, blogging and video marketing products and services, including training videos, private consulting and done-for-you packages.
Home base is in Chicago, where Julia owns a condo overlooking Lake Michigan. “I love hearing the waves while I work at my dining room table, and watching the moon rise over the water.” An excellent cook, Julia gives frequent dinner parties for friends and family.
